The Truth about receiving the Holy Ghost

The TRUTH, with all the Confusion about being BORN AGAIN

I know that most of you reading this have been taught by your church that you are saved and have received the Holy Ghost the minute you believed on the Lord Jesus.  I say to you the truth is Potentially, that is true.

Let me give you an example of what I mean.  If I plant corn, do I have corn.  The answer is potentially,  if I water and wait, God will raise some of the seeds up and will produce many ears of corn.  Some of the seeds will die for any number of reasons.  So not all the seeds will grow and produce ears of corn, just some.

The Truth is, scripture says we are saved by grace and grace alone and we are.  So most of the churches have built a doctrine around that scripture and left out everything else.

We are not much different than the corn,  we ask God to forgive us and He does.  We ask God be with us and guide us, and He does.

And our churches say it is over then, that we are then born again.

Yet not one scripture says that is true.  Jesus said, you must be born again.( JOHN 3:7).  And scripture show us that many were not born again, (received the Holy Ghost), when they believed in the book of Acts.

Like ACTS 19:1-2   And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 † He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him,  We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And in ACTS 8:5-7   Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. 6   And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7  For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

ACTS 8:12   But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

These people believed on the Lord Jesus and because they had faith, they displayed that faith by following the commandment of Peter in Acts 2:38. They were baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus.  Yet NOT one of them was born again (received the baptism of the Holy Ghost), when they believed.

ACTS 8:15   Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:  16 †  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

So What is the Truth

The Truth is that God knows the heart and He seals us with His Spirit, when He accepts our Faith.  He knows what you believe and He knows what you will do before you do it.  He knows if you believe HIS WORD or the word of the great man in your church.

Take a close look at the book of Acts, it was the true church in action and they in that church did things a certain way.  And God was with them, For He vindicated that He was with them by the signs and wonders that He did.  It was the most powerful church on earth, yet most of the people of that day did not come into the fold, did they.

Peter was given the Keys to the Kingdom wasn’t he.

MATTHEW 16:19   And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

And Peter, when ask how to be saved, said Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Born Again).  Peter had the KEYS to the KINGDOM and what he said has to be until the end of time.

Remember God knows our hearts and He knows that a saved person will want to do what is pleasing to Him.  And that person will follow the Word and not man’s interpretation  of that Word.  Man has taught a new way, to baptize in Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  This is a way that God did not say through Peter and it WAS NEVER DONE in the early church or was it EVER DONE by using those titles in any of the BIBLE.  Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not names at all, but common sense tells us those are titles to a name.  Jesus didn’t say in Mat 28:19 the names of,  He said the NAME of.  Single NAME and Peter’s revelation was, that Name was the Lord Jesus Christ.  And we are also told that there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven, by which we must be saved. ACTS 4:12

So if we put this all together, then the most important thing to do after we believe is: TO REPENT,  REPENT,  REPENT

Let us speak of repentance for a moment,  Repentance is a VERB, an ACTION WORD.  It requires something on our part, so how does that work and still be a free gift of God.

1.     The scripture that says we are saved by faith and not works, is TRUE.

2.     The scripture that says faith without works is dead, (no faith at all), is also TRUE.

So we know that faith and works go together, but how.   The answer is quite simple, when we Truly Repent and Truly put our Faith in Jesus Christ, He sees our hearts and by His Spirit, He gives us the power to do the works.  He gives us the power to Repent.  He gives us the power to overcome satan.  It is not us, but Him doing the works.

So what are we to Repent of, repent of unbelief in God’s Word.  For all sin is just attributes of our unbelief.

Then because of our change of heart, we wish to follow God and do whatever He wants us to do.  He becomes our master, He becomes our rudder, we give Him complete control. So we know what He said in Mat 28 and in Acts 2 and we know that they are both correct somehow.  We look up to Him to show us the truth and He does and we are Baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, because it is the Word of God and the only way it was ever done in the bible.  And we know it has to be true, for the Word of God is True and every man a liar.  We are buried in the water and it symbolizes Dying with Him and coming up out of the water, symbolizes being born again.

There is only ONE NAME Given to man that he might be saved.  ACTS 4:12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Then we are to continue in pray and live in faith until He accepts the faith that we have in Him, Then He Baptizes us with His Holy spirit, we are sealed into the body of Christ.  You see this is NOT WHEN WE BELIEVE, (as most churches teach), but It is SINCE we believe and continue believing and following His WORD.

Jesus Said it like this:

MATTHEW 13:3 †  And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;  4 †  And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:  5 †  Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:  6 †  And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.7 †  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:  8 †  But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Each of these different groups of people made a decision for God, yet only one of these groups of people belong to Him.  The others were not true seeds of God at all and even though they may have went to church for years, they may have been given Gifts of God, THEY are STILL NONE of HIS, they never received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.  These didn’t stick with the WORD of GOD as the first church in the book of Acts did.  Read Acts 2:38-40, this is the true church in action, then and now.

So in conclusion, most of the churches are wrong, when they teach about how to be saved.  Just like when they teach about baptism.  Life only comes by the TRUE Word of God made manifest in you.

Look back at history, was most of the church wrong in Jesus’ day?  Was and is the doctrine of the Catholic Church contrary to the bible?  How about the Lutheran?  We could go on and on and on, yet I think you get the point.

THERE IS LIFE ONLY IN THE WORD AND THE WORD IS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
